WIndows keeps bugging me to install same updates?

...Windows XP Pro keeps bugging me to install MSXML 2.0 security update, I've tried to remove the update, but no luck. Tried installing it through the web based update, the the OP based updater and having it intall when I shut down, but then five minutes later it bugs me again to intall it. Noticed that XP seems to be getting buggier and buggier each update, is MSN doing something ineffect trying to make XP less and less stable so people switch to vista?

You have a software conflict that is causing an issue.

Uninstall the update from Add/Remove programs.

Download and manually install the patch from Microsoft's web site. Note any issues reported by the installer. If none are reported, reboot. See if the update is redetected.

We had 6 machines out of 3000 we had to use this mehtod for when we rolled out that patch via WSUS. All of them had some custom software not in our normal builds.
