windows 7 VM xp printer not working

Hey guys i have a client that is a pain in the ass, anyways they bought a PC from us but DIDN'T say oh we have state software (which doesnt work with 7), and now it is acting up on win XP mode. Well they also have a printer that needs to work inside xp mode, with the software but i cannot get the printer to print at all inside xp mode. It is an hp laserjet 1200. I installed the best software and nothing. The printer is set to lpt port 1 because another printer is using usb0001 inside of win 7.

Any ideas? The software is a voter registration software and the township needs to printer small<A5 size cards. But it will not printer any size anything, from any program.

This is why i hate government because they hire ignprant people that do not know didly shit about what they need and when techs ask them what software programs they use they are not sure.
