I am playing around with iscsi and ran into an issue.
Writes to the 2008 server near max for the GB connection but reads from the server are 1/3 of the writes.
Using ms initiator(7) and target(2008).
I created a ram disk on both ends to eliminate the drive i/o as the issue and there was no change.
I tried 4k frames writes sped up just a small bit(5) but no change on reads.
Any ideas?

Hey Stormy.

I've never run into the issue myself using 2008R2/Storage Server 2008R2 but I did manage to find an auto tuning feature that others say causes slow writes.

I'd run an image/backup before making this change - just in case.

What kind of hardware are you using?

4 core xeon 2.13Ghz server with 12GB ram with Intel 4 port GB card, win2008 server, dlink 655 router, amd 760 motherboard/2500+/4GB ram with on-board GB nic. win7 64.
Will be adding a GB switch soon.

bad network cable, replaced it with a 75 foot cat 6 cable from monoprice and it is 100+Mbs both ways.
Thank you for the help!
