WIN2K and WINXP File Sharing/Networking.

Well since search doesnt work..

my main pc has Windows xp Installed. my Laptop has Win2k installed on a wireless lan.

anyways.. the Router is Wireless/Wired so theres no problem seeing the network..

but i want to share a file on my Main Pc to my laptop..

i use my wireless lan with my home stereo system when the boys are over and we are playing pool and drinking.. so i wanna play the music off my main machine..on my laptop and the laptop is fed into the stereo.

so whats the settings for sharing in win2k and winxp ....

Same workgroup for both machine. Also Same users with same passwords. Then set the directory as a share then you can either map the drive or just go thru network places.

i did all u said.. i still cant access it.. i keep getting permission not allowed...MSHOME not allowed.. any idea?

If both computers have the same users and passwords then check your sharing permissions. Could set the other user to have full permissions for that directory.

iam getting the error "Network Path was not found."
