Win XP: Start > My Computer won't load

The my computer window won't load anything. You click the icon, and it opens the window, but if you click anywhere in the window the Not Responding message shows and nothing works. I can see all my drives when opening/saving/ etc. But if I click the My Computer icon or folder up in windows explorer, nothing shows. It doesn't finish loading. Randomly started the other day.

Windows update cause?

could be a windows update... have you tried running a virus scan?
