Win 7 or Xp.... Freezes every first boot

I'm hoping someone has some idea what might cause this issue.

This has gone on for well over 2 years, since I have owned the system from new and using two different OS (Format install). If I start the system normally from power off then it freezes during windows bootup (XP screen or Win 7 logo) . If I just wait for post and then hit ctrl-alt-del then it boots perfectly. I dont seem to have any other crashes or problems with the system.

Does anyone know how to go about debugging this? My guess is some sort of Bios/ACPI issue but there are no bios updates available for this board (It is Iwill so no support).

Yes, its all at stock speed.

Have you tried stripping the system down and booting with just the bare minimum installed? CPU/Mem/GFX/HDD for example?

I found the solution by accident.

I was just removing the Bios saviour to get ready to sell the board when I notice the original bios wouldnt boot. I ended up do a full bootblock abd even empty area flash with a fresh bios and now everything is fine. Being an Iwill board it will now be left and no settings changed
