Will this light up UV reactive stuff?

I was looking for a UV fan that has the UV lamp on it because I'd rather use that rather than a 12" cathode. So...will THIS light up my UV reactive sleeving?
 
some what. yes it will, but not very well. i would suggest getting a couple of ccff uv tubes also.
 
thanks, I decided to just go for a 12" cold cathode, I figured It'd work better, seeing that its made for that stuff. I know, im retarded! :rolleyes:
 
I've tried the 12'' CCFLs and they didnt UV light as much as i'd hoped, so I ended up getting 4 CCFL whites and placed them around the outside.
 
Hmmm...well, I hope the one I ordered works ok! I'm not trying to get it all crazily bright, I just want to light up my wire sleeving so it stands out. I have one of those liquid lighning 12" cathodes, but it doesnt put off much brightness (it wasnt meant to light anything up, I just got it because of how it looks when its on). It won't take that much brightness to light up the sleeving. It seems to be reactive to any kinds of light. Like, the LED fans make it glow and stand out compared to the rest of the inside of the case. I figured that the UV cold cathode might brighten that up even more, and I hope I'm right...otherwise I'll cry like a little baby! :p
 
I dont know why one of those fans wouldn't light up the sleeving just as good as a CCFL, especially considering it is a CCFL! only differance is the shape.
 
yes i check the link. i have a tube and lights pretty good. i said what i said because in my opinion (note not ever using the fan, going by looks) felt that he would be happier with the tube. it's my understanding that the forum is for people to discus idea and thought. one person may like a ford, one may like a chevy doesn't mean one is better than another persay. one may just fit the application better, and in my opinion it was a tube. if you thought that the fan was better why didn't you reply?
 
Hey, I sense a little hostility, come on, let's not turn this thread into an argument zone. Thank you for all of your opinions, as I appreciate EACH of them just as much. It is all about opinion, and everyone has their own, as I have my own as well, I already ordered the 12" UV cold cathode lamp as I figured "Eh, I'm lazy and I dont feel like taking out the fan and replacing it, so I'll just buy a 12" lamp." Thanks again guys.
 
It depends where you have the fan. I have one but in orange and it lights up my orange sleeving very well but i do have the fan in the middle of my cutout window. I do admit though that i have 4 orange leds thoughout the case that helps a little but not much. Look at the sleeving and see how it glows. It looks tight in orange. You dont see many PCs in this color scheme.

I really didn't mean to be hostile, I meant to be quistioning the opinion.I edited my post, you can take that as a apoligy for what I said.
I really dont know why the round wouldn't work as good as a long straight CCFL of the same length. I guess it is like Fanatik said, its all in the placement, and what you have room for.
 
No harm done, I've just seen too much anger around the forum lately, trying to help clean it up a bit. Yeah, as I've found out, placement matters a lot. The fan probably would have been the better choice for me, since it would be right there i the middle of the case, and it wouldve litten up all of the sleeving. But I chose the 12" cathode, and I'm happy with that! With the tubes, you have to at least get 2 of them to get real good lighting, but for now the one works just fine! The only thing that sucks is that the plexiglass side panel on my computer is slightly hewn blue, so it catches the blacklight pretty easy...but its not a big deal!
