Hey guys, I have an option to trade + a few bucks, from a Hiper Type R 580W PSU to an OCZ StealthXstream 600W PSU. The reason I consider this, is because I am upgrading from an 8800GTS to an 8800GTX in a few days.

I love my HIPER but the 12V rail is weak (~360W) and the OCZ can handle 580W on the 12v rail. I have a feeling, that with the system specs in my sig, I am already pushing it to its limit.

What do you all think? Get the OCZ or keep the HIPER?

So you're upgrading the card, but still not going SLI though?

Then keep the Hiper. You're still not pushing it too much.

Thanks! I was worried, because all the PSU calculators were estimating 700W+ for a heavily overclocked Q6600, 10x120mm Fans, a pump on High speed, an 8800GTX overclocked to 600mhz+, 4gb of ram, a sound card, 3 hard drives, and a disk drive. Should I still consider the 600W for future upgrades or just wait until I need to get an 800-1000w PSU?

Stick with what you have. The OCZ is rated higher, but in reality the amount of clean power it can output isn't much more than the Hiper.

I've done tests and even with 8800GTX in SLI I don't need 700W. I would have to have a dual proc (not just dual core) system like a Quad FX, dual Opty or dual Xeon to justify a 700W or higher.
