Will Steam ever do anything about all the aimbots in MW2 MP?

Oh, I see all the draconian, player unfriendly, customer hostile, overpriced decisions really payed off to create a superior player experience. Pirates and cheaters have been outright perplexed and the game environment is a nirvana of perfect gameplay and courteous, rule-following community.

Probably not. As said above, they've made more than enough money off of this title. Why spend more money on MW2 when you can put that money into MW3(or whatever) and get a bigger return?

Edit: IIRC, it's not really up to steam to do anything about it, steam is used for authenticating, IW runs IWNet, which handles the multiplayer.

According to what I have read on various twitters and that, the javelin fix is out for PCs, but no confirmation if this was the big patch they were talking about since there are no patch notes still and the patch was supposedly tiny.
 
Surely you jest. IW already told us that getting rid of dedicated servers would eliminate cheating.
 
I've encountered exactly 1 aimbotter, 3 rank hackers in my 40+ hours of playing. Game with aimbotter laster about 2:30 before he nuked us.

Wouldn't call this problem 'out of hand'
 
Sounds more like OP just thinks people are cheating. I haven't experienced any cheaters yet or at least none that are blatantly obvious. Believe it or not, there are some people that are really just that good.
 
In the last 10 hours I played (I have stopped playing), I ran across a hacker in about 1 out of 5 games.
 
There are cheaters. If you understand how vac works, you'll understand why it isn't perfect. Granted I haven't seen an aimbotter after the bannings, but that doesn't mean they were removed. I've only seen 2 profile cheaters after the banning. I've also found less than a handful of people wall-hacking, which takes a long time to confirm.

As darksonic said, some people are just that good. Smart tactics and crazy weapons are their advantage.

Aim botting. Killing more than 1 person a second through walls on kill cam. Only headshots, no recoil. Not even trying to hide it. And most of the time they make some stupid comment at the end of the game after they nuke everyone (after going 60-2 or something).

Like I said, I have stopped playing, so it could be no where close to that anymore. Fact remains that if I was playing on a dedicated server with admins, I would still be playing the game.

About 15 hours in, I had one match with a blatent cheater. Had choppers and strike within 2 mins of the match starting. We got nuked at about 4 mins. I believe his in game name was George Bush. Someone mentioned having the same experience with a George Bush 2.

Its easy to think people are cheating, I feel like when your team is up (domination) they just start spawning right behind you. The knifers, 1887 dualies and non stop grenade attached kills get old. Those weapons needs some balancing.

Knives just need a hit box fix. People shouldn't be able to knife you while not even looking at you (kill cam).

Dual shotties need a nerf.

The game is amazing and addictive like all the COD games. One person buying it certainly isn't hurting sales. You are just missing out. once the game is patched a few times and weapons balanced it will be even better.

The whole boycott thing failed massively.
 
Yes I'm aware of it's great sells. I'm still not buying it until it reaches the bargin bin if even then.

Since I rarely game online, it's short single player campaign isn't missed at all.
I'm enjoying DA:O which is well worth the money. ;)

Bargin bin? lol COD 4 is still $39 for the PC. WaW is $50. COD games don't really ever hit the bargin bin - maybe on the console they do. They are one game I have no issue buying, they are worth every penny imo and hold their value than most PC games.

Way to miss the point. COD4 and WaW success was largely due to dedicated servers and Community Support. If I can't mod my gameplay more enjoyable, IW better know what keeps me entertain or else I move on and this game hits the bargain bin.

I bought every COD up until this one. I paid full price for 3 COD4 PC games. Two for friends and the XBOX360 version.
I'm not helping IW with MW2 even if my purchases aren't missed.

Yes sir, he's going by the name "Dubwya" or something very close to thank now, same gimmick, watch his kills, instant lock, instant kill, no recoil, runs 40 and 0, gets nukes just a few minutes in, it's pathetic.

People that bought it are not fools and people boycotting it are not fools either. There are many that like the game and knew beforehand what they were buying.
