mine is currently at 64 MB...I have a gig of system ram, should i increase it to 128 or so?

It should match your video card RAM amount.
 
It's really kind of a mystery setting...personally I wouldn't use less than 128mb but some people actually get better performance with 64 and some better with 256. Just try different settings to see what works for your rig.
