I just bought a shuttle AN35 ultra mobo and a 9600xt. I wanted it to be installed correctly so i reformatted and reinstalled windows. my system specs are

350watt (generic) P/S with only a HD, CDRW, FLOPPY, 2 fans, and this card to run.
2500+ barton
512 pc3200 (kingston valueram)
Windows XP PRO
4.1 Drivers

Now, the system starts up great, has no problems. Gets to the desktop. Now, when I run certain things (so far it is: AIM, Outlook Express, newegg.com, and random other sites, so far only about 2 more) The screen locks up, then the monitor says the video card isnt responding. So I have to restart, and it starts fine. But the odd thing is, I can run 3dmark03 and 01, COD, HALO, all on high settings, and it NEVER locks up and stops responding. Any ideas on how to fix it?

Thanks,
Todd

Re-install Windows, I guess you should post this on the software thread as the video card is not the issue.

I just did, and the only reason I did reinstall is because for a couple days it was doing this. Does anyone have any helpful info?

have you tried diff vid card drivers? ...disable vpu recovery? ..are you running everything at default speeds? ...ie ..cpu, ram , vidcard ..bla bla bla?

is cpu and ram running sync'd or async?

..just had odd deal with friends xp2600+ nforce2 mobo and 1gig of pc3200 kingston hyperX comp with agp arperature settings in bios , anything over 64 and comp would freeze on initial boot screen ..so yuh never know ..it could be some small little oddball non typical thing causing the wierdness on your setup.
