Widescreen gaming questions

I am considering purchasing a dell 2405 widescreen monitor but had some questions about gaming. Do all games play ok on it? Like, do any games have to be run in a windowed mode or do most games have resolutions for widescreen monitors? Also, how beefy of a videocard needed to run the native reso of the 2405? Would an unlocked x800 gto2 be ok?

ive had mine for about a week and am loving it.. i just got q4 and fear and have played both on it. How it looks all depends on your settings, you could set it to widescreen and have all resolutions stretch to fit, or you can have the game centered on the screen which would show black bars on either side. I have no dead pixels or backlighting issues but I definately notice some ghosting when playing those fast fps's.. but I am willing to deal with it and after a while don't even notice it anymore. The real problem is I only have a 6800gt and Q4 or Fear don't like being pushed with max gfx and 1600x or 1900x res, so I either have to turn off the FX or run at a lower res, or both depending on the situation. So it is more of a pc problem than a problem with the monitor. All I can say is it's fucking awesome. Good luck with your decision.
