Why only 1602?

I have an E6600 installed in a P5WDG2 WS PRO, BIOS 0307. CPU-IZ specifies the CPU as 2.4GHz, but displays a Core speed of 1602.8 for core 1 and core 2! Multiplier is x6.0, FSB is 267.1 and Bus speed is 1068.5. Stepping is 6 and revision is B2. Voltage is 1.213. Sorry, I am a n0ob and don't know how to "insert image" of CPU-IZ display into this post.

Is there anything wrong with these numbers?

It sounds like your mulitplier is set too low. If your FSB is 1068.5, then it is actually running at about 267.1 Multiply that by your multiplier of six, and you get 1602. Go into the BIOS and see if you can manually set it. If the clock speed of your processor is 2.4 GHz, the multiplier should be 9.

Above poster is wrong...

Intel has "SpeedStep" technology that lowers the voltage and multiplier when the CPU is idle. It's good because it uses less power and runs cooler. You can turn it off in the BIOS, but if you're going stock I would just keep it.

edit: I would run something like Orthos and keep CPU-Z open and see that it should go back up to the normal multiplier (9x).

You are correct. I ran super PI and watched the CPU-ID display change from x6.0 to x9.0 multiplier..
