Why BTX isn't popular?

1. Intel released BTX form factor, but recently I haven't seen any motherboard designed for BTX. WHY?

2. Can Flex-ATX, Pico-ITX, micro-ATX and other SFFs use the same one power supply?
 
1. BTX is not an open standard. You have to pay to produce a motherboard on that spec IIRC.
Also it is not popular because, it is rather hard to design for in the first place. Few cases will accept BTX. There also is no benefit compared to mainstay ATX.
 
That and intel stopped supporting and releasing new products on it. I would say that's a pretty good reason.

Devs saw it for what it was - intel trying to force everyone to change their designs because their P4s were overheating toaster ovens. All it did was flip the layout of the board and ask case manufacturers to put the fan in the middle, which would require everyone to purchase a new case and case devs to redesign all of theirs. Not happening.
