i figured they would be a lot higher than this.

Running my a64 venice 3200+ at 2340mhz (260x9)
asus a8n-e

ran about 12 hours of prime overnight and i check the temps in sandra and asus probe program, and its reading that at full load the cpu is running at 39degrees.

thats with the stock alum. amd heatsink and fan including the stock tim!

does that sound like a normal temp or are the programs reading it wrong? the exaust fans on the computre dont really feel like anything is to warm in there, so maybe its right.

That's honestly too low to be stock, unless your room is frigid. Right now I get 38C load with moderate-flow watercooling. (Same proc. but without the overclock.) You should probably be getting somewhere in the range of 48-53C, so your onboard temp sensor may be a bit muddled up...

i havent checked at full load or after the overclock, but with stock speeds, the fins on the heatsink were no where near hot when i would touch them. the apartment is set to about 68degrees farrenhight or so. my mobo temp sensor reads about 32degrees.

its in a lian li pc60, 2 80mm fans in the front, one 80mm sunon high flow fan on the rear exhaust.

temp probe might be off. It's probably about 42c. Not 50c... that's hot, you'd feel it in the heatsink if it were 50.

Really not too unusual, i used a 3000+ Winchester on stock heatsink with stock paste crap, and load temp was 39c after priming all night. But that's clocked at 1.8.

well here's an update.

running at 2.43ghz (270x9)
vcore = 1.440v
memory running at 221mhz
ht multi = 3x

after 4 hours of prime so far, my temp seems to be around 47degrees :) not to bad really
my mobo temp is reading 30 degrees

i've got a stock amd heatpipe cooler on the way right now so that should drop it down some more.

ok, ran prime for 12 hours with no problems. after quiting prime my temps went back down to about 34 degrees idle

That isnt to bad at all. With my water cooling it was sitting at 68 just before it shut down. I then discovered that half the water had drained onto the floor around the resevoir plug. Now it sits at 26 degrees. at 2.2ghz. A 3200+ so I am happy, course where it sits is rather cool as well.

thats a pretty normal temp.
Mine ran at 38C load clocked to 2.6GHz, default volts, ambient 22C stock cooler.
It now runs at 44C clocked at 2.8GHz, 1.55V, ambient 20C water cooled.

The low temp is why these overclock so well :D
