Who build the first PC?

The Altair/IMSAI was generally considered the first pre-fab home computer, though Heathkit used to ship a PC in kit form prior to the IMSAI being generally available.

The Apple I (later, ][, ][+, //e) was an outgrowth of the hobbiest culture that sprang up around the Heathkit and IMSAI systems (and various homebrew computers) in Northern California, at the California Computer Club.

Normally, I'd say do your own damned homework, but you're probably not going to find that sort of information easily.

EDIT: Hm. I was unaware of the GENIAC and Simon. That's a nice link (blinkenlights).

I would go with Steve Wozniak and apple since it is more well known. That link provided is interesting though.

Yes, you could, but I wouldn't call it a junker. It was a marvel at the time. :p

True...I am actually old enough to remember when apple and IBM were just coming out and were awesome. I was just comparing that thing to todays standards, hence the junker comment. :p

My uncle a Heathkit computer before I had my Timex/Sinclair. Man that thing was AWESOME!

I would love to have one of those today, or a Simon!

Thanks who answered, I couldn't find who made the PC thats why I was asking the smarter people here. (not asking to do my homework.) I guess I am gonna do John Babbage.
