...i'm an idiot. I skimmed that part and saw only old cpu sockets listed. No, I was not referring to the i7's (not yet atleast).

I'm wondering though if I should upgrade to a cascade or fuzion (1-2 degrees are not worth it)?

Fuzion V2 is a great block and will net better than 1-2c improvements.
 
It's been at $29 for several years, at least. I remember paying that 4 years ago.
