Ive seen several times ppl mentioning the white coating on IPS panels.

could this effect be described as " wery sunny winter looking at the snow reflecing the sun"?

I guess it's a bit "gold glow" feeling to white text on black backgound?

For a person who is wery sensitive to contrast/brightness levels could this potentially be a problem?

Currently I most of the time use my displays with contrast/brightness of 1-15 out of 100.

Why do you keep saying "wery" ? lol

The newer IPS panels have a slight whiteish glow from the corners but the gold glow was from older panels I believe. If the thought of it bugs you , you may want to avoid Ips technology unless you can find one with an A-TW polarizer (which cuts down on the ips glow effect)

Be wery wery quiet...he's hunting wabbits!

What you refer to is probably the sparkly grain that is most conspicuous in IPS panels. It resembles photographic noise, except that its changes (sparkles) when you move your head relative to the monitor (and as a result, there's also a stereo effect from your two eyes seeing different noise patterns).

This effect is a result of light diffusing through the anti-glare coating which is applied to all matte (non-glossy) LCDs. The anti-glare coating is like frosted glass.

I would speculate that the matte sparkle effect is more severe on IPS LCDs because (I suspect) they have pixels deeper below the surface.

I only wrote wery twice... yes I know now it's spelled very now, but then again my swedish propably is much better than you swedish knowledge....

ontopic I'll later on compare having the ips as main display and see if it's irritating/noticeable compared to the PVA 2405fpw
