My dvd player has a digital coax output for sound along with stereo right and left hookups for output. My tv has a sound out that is optical.
would it be better to go to the 5.1 audio player with coax from the dvd player directly to 5.1 or would it be better to go to the TV from the dvd player with stereo hookups and then from the TV to the 5.1 with optical?
I'm thinking the later would sound worse but using better cables won't have a difference because it originally was brought to the TV on stereo cables so it can't get better then stereo quality (correct, or no?).
setup for sound:
dvd player (stereo and digital coax out)
TV (stereo in) (stereo and digital fiber out)
5.1 (stereo , digital coax, and digital fiber in)
