Which to buy

So should I buy a Q9450 or a E8400/E3110?

I don't know if I really need to spend the more money on the Q9450 and get it later, or get the E8400 now for 100 or so dollars less.. I want this system about a year and half to 2 years

Here is the system it is going in (gaming only):

CPU: E8400/Q9450
Cooler: Xigmatech Rifle
MB: Abit IX38 Quad GT
Cooler: x2 Scythe Fans 40mm
Memory: 4GB (2x2) Dual Channel 1000 GSkill
PSU: PC Power & Cooling Quad Crossfire Edition 750W
Case: Antec P182
OS: Windows Vista 64 Home Premium
Audio: Creative X-Fi XtremeGamer
GPU: VisionTek Radeon 3870x2 (another one soon)
Monitor: Sharp Aquos 32in 1080p 1920x1080

Any advice would be appreciated!

By the way I play CoD4, Supreme Commander, and Warhammer Online when it comes out. I also want it to be able to handle whatever comes out well (like very high settings)

Wow, expensive looking build. Anyways go with the e8400, especially if you plan on using this system only for gaming for the next 1-2 years. It'll save you money and should run most games faster. Though I don't know where you would be able to find it in stock.

Yeah big $$$,... I'd say the 8400, but considering how much you've spent everywhere else, I guess the 9450 would be in line with the other components.

Go with the Q9450 - no good reason to save $100 and be short 2 cores when you're putting together such a nice system - that and the Q9450 *should* be more than $100 more than the E8400 but everyone is gouging so bad on the E8400 right now it's not. In no case would I pay $250 for an E8400.
