ok so me and a friend are haveing a conflict...he thinks he knows alot and his bother is always right..he knows somthing but very little anyway the problem is he thinks his dell XPS system that his brother bought him for xmas would beat a amd system of the following speck

Dell case-XPS
Amd Case-aspire 6fan xsuperalien case

dell cooling-stock intel sink
amd cooling-xp90 with vantec tornado

dell processor- intel 3.6ghz
amd-3000+ winchester(overclocked to 2800mhz)

dell motherboard-oem intel or whatever dell uses
amd motherboard-msi neo2 platnium

dell ram-1gb pc3200 non dual channle
amd ram-1gb OCZ PC-3200 R.2 EL dual channle

dell video card-came with the 6800nu pci express 256mb card,he said he stupidly switched to a ati which is slower probably a plan X800 at best(he thought his old 9200SE was good)
amd video card-Evga 6800gt 256mb flashed to 6800U

dell power supply- whatever the use in the XPS systems
amd- forton blue storm 500w dual 15amp rails

everything else wouldnt rele matter in gamning would it so please vote amd lol be honest what u think would bench better on say doom3 and far cry though i think amd is the obvious one lol

As you say, the answer speaks for itself, most noticeably in the area of 6800GT at Ultra vs 6800nu.

2800Mhz out of a 3000+ seems like a fairly good overclock to me as well, not that I've done much CPU overclocking myself!

yes i dunno the speed comparsons between clawhammer and winchester cores but that should be as fast as a FX55

If you overclock that processor, it'll outperform that 3.6Ghz Intel processor failry well (for gaming). And if this computer is for gaming, that 6800GT running at 6800U speeds will blow away that 6800NU basically making the custom built computer own everything the Dell computer would even dream of doing in games.

XPS case sucks balls. Inferior cooling.

dell cooling-stock intel sink
amd cooling-xp90 with vantec tornado

Dell gets owned, especially with that Tornado.

dell processor- intel 3.6ghz
amd-3000+ winchester(overclocked to 2800mhz)

Bitch, please! That's going to outrun a FX-55! And my stock 3500+ beats the P4 3.6 at benches & games.

dell motherboard-oem intel or whatever dell uses
amd motherboard-msi neo2 platnium

Neo2 wins.

dell ram-1gb pc3200 non dual channle
amd ram-1gb OCZ PC-3200 R.2 EL dual channle

Lower latency OCZ = maximum ownage.

Duuuh...

Use Aquamark 3 as the benchmark. Watch him cry. :D

lol i found out today he doesnt even have the XPS :D and this son of a bitch calls me jealous haha hes gonna get 0wn3d in everything
