I'd get the Crucial M4 - but as everyone else said, try to swing a larger one.
This, no doubt about it. The other drives are based off Sandforce controllers that have random BSOD issues with Windows. Although the M4 does have an issue after 5000+ hours of use, it's better to know when you need to look for problems, rather than being surprised when it does happen out of the blue. Plus Crucial supposedly has the issue fixed and will release the firmware update January 16th.
Crucial M4. They are bad-ass.
Crucial has AWESOME customer service. I had to RMA two 2GB DDR2 sticks and since they do not have them anymore, they gave me some options. They gave me about $60 per stick of store credit. I'm not sitting happy with 16GB of DDR3! They gave me NO problems at all...
If this is the case, buy the M4. I couldn't get Samsung to RMA my drive. It said my serial number was invalid.
I returned it to TigerDirect and immediately bought an M4. TigerDirect had no 830s in stock.
You'll never notice the difference between the two. They're both stupid fast. Buy whichever is cheaper. Though, the Samsung is secksy as hell.
