ST380023AS or ST380013AS?

Need speed, quiet, cool. Which one do I pick? The only difference I see is one of them is a Barracuda V and the other is a 7200.7.

Try one of the new Hitachi sata drives. It has outpaced the Raptor drives in many reviews. Here is a link to the 120GB for $118 from newegg.

I have 2 in raid 0 and they are pretty darn fast and quiet enough for me.

I would never ever buy a Hitachi drive in my life.

If it's a Barracuda, just get it. Their SCSI drives are louder than a flight of bombers during WWII, but their IDE and SATA drives are pretty darn quiet. :)

The Barracuda V will be the quieter of the two, and the 7200.7 will perform just a little better. Since you probably wont be able to tell the performance difference very much in actual usage I'd go with the ST380023AS.
