Which route to go?

I am currently on a dying 19 inch crt that i loathe really since it is a hunk of junk. I am trying to decide between buying a single large monitor or 2 semi large for dual display. The 2 options I am looking at right now are:

Hanns·G HG-281DPB Black 27.5" 3ms Widescreen LCD HDMI Monitor 500 cd/m2 800:1 Built in Speakers
I would use this one as a single monitor.

vs.

2 of these monitors:
Acer X223Wbd Black 22" 5ms Widescreen LCD Monitor

I do a bit of gaming mainly left4dead,cod4, and guildwars. I am a computer science student so I do programming almost daily as well. The dual display seems like it may be more useful for the programming side of things. I also tend to read a lot and watch movies on my pc rather than tv. I am hoping to hear some opinions on which style of real estate would be more useful based on what I use the pc to do. If both these lcd's are crap in your opinion state simliar ones that are of the same size range and price range.

If you decide on two smaller displays, call Dell and get the $212 deal on the Dell 2209WA. The monitors you are looking at are TNs, while the 2209WA is an e-IPS that would be far superior to the X223Wbd.

If you want a single large monitor, look at a Planar PX2611W or DoubleSight DS-265W. Yes, they are more expensive and 25.5", but they are H-IPS monitors that will blow away the Hanns-G. Not in the same price range, but I think 27.5" is too big for a TN panel due to the viewing angles problem.

Just call Dell and ask them for the $212 deal on the 2209WA. If the rep won't budge from a higher price, hang up and call again until you get a rep that gives you the deal.

I called 10 times today seems that the answer I keep getting is they no longer carry the monitor or its price is $279.99. Oh well I will try more in a bit need to eat dinner. Thanks for the help so far.
