Choices for my budget-4x512 dimms of (I need 2gb btw)

OCZ PC3500 2.5-3-3-7

Although from the reviews it seems like there are quality control issues and the cas 2 ram may not run cas 2, but don't know if that guy had the wrong voltages.

Not sure if anyone has any of these and can tell me whether its a better choice between the pc3200 OCZ and Mushkin or whether having looser timed PC3500 would be better.

There's been issues (many issues) with OCZ ram not running at, or even close to rated speed. Sooo... Chances are he had the correct voltages and stuff.
 
The Mushkin PC3200 lvl 1 will be alot better then the OCZ. Mushkin memory overclocks the best, runs the tightest timings, made by the best PCB manufacturer in the bussiness and uber quality customer support. I dont deal with OCZ because i havn't been impressed with what they have to offer at all. All the good reviews on OCZ clearly dont know how to test RAM. Overclockability doesn't mean anything if it isn't completely error free.

I'm running 1GB of Mushkin PC3200 right now myself. Excellent RAM. Runs 2-3-2-5 no problem.

Why do you need 2GB of RAM BTW?
 
2gb is a bit overkill, but often when I'm doing photoshop, video editing, and 3d it eats up over 1.5 gb and the extra 512 is simply so i can run dual channel.

I was also wondering whether I should stick with the P4C-800E Deluxe or the P4P800 Deluxe because I hear that populating all your slots disables PAT on the 875 chipsets and Mushkin says that they only guarantee their timings with PAT disabled. Don't know which selection will give better performance, PAT + looser timed RAM or no PAT + tighter timed RAM.

Oh, and what is the difference between the P4C-E and non E. I saw that one has an ICH5R and the latter has ICHR. Dont know the difference between the 5 and non 5 :D .
 
OCZ is great memory, as is Mushkin. In my experiences of using each brand, they're both very stable and OC like crazy. You can't go wrong either way.
 
so would the general consensus between overclocking and not overclocking be that PC3200 for not overclocking and PC3500 for overclocking.

Rather PC3200 performs better when not overclocked however, PC3500 will give better performance when overclocked.

Then there is there is Rev.2 of the OCZ PC3700 gold that can do 2-2-3-5 timings at DDR 400 and overclock to 520 according to Anandtech, which seems interesting.

Sorry, if it all sounds a bit confusing :D
 
I'm kinda starting to lean towards the 3700, but am turned off by the negative comments about stability and reliability with the RAM. wonder if anyone actually has any experience or reliable threads about this issue.

2-2-2-5 at 200FSB not too stable
2.5-3-3-5 at 233FSB stable
2.5-3-3-7 at 250FSB stable (2.75vDIMM)

My personal opinion: Don't buy it if you are not overclocking because it sucks at 200FSB. If you are, i think it won't disappoint you, because it is very stable up to 250FSB at good timing (haven't tried 250+FSB). Overall, I enjoyed my ram ;)
