Which PS5 is right for me?

It works on very few select games. A quick search will show its almost never recommended over the standard slim console. Big promises very little delivery when it came to the ps5 pro. Sure it’s more powerful but if the games do not utilize it… then it’s worthless.

I thought those controllers support backward compatibility

To note, the ps5 pro will be digital only (if you have a bluray collection and you expected your console to play them) and you will need to buy a disk drive.

Those type of question are always really hard because
1) how much $200 is worth to someone is extremely subjective
2) graphic, specially resolution and framerate are also quite people by people subjective experience, me side by side 1440p and 4k 27 inch monitor, a foot from my face, running the same game at the same time, same place, really hard time seeing the difference, same for high quality large video file, I do not lower than 90 fps at all, some people do, etc... (if my monitor go back to 60hz for some reason I will not remark it right away, while some people talk of high hz monitor like it was going from hdd to ssd).

One way, do you have some specific PS title in mind (want to replay final fantasy, gran turismo, etc...) and youtube will have a good breakdown of the difference between the pro and regular ps version, digital foundry will have a bunch of them:

the PS5 slim astrobot edition with a blueray driver is $450 right now, the diskless pro is $700. People can answer technical specific question, is extra framerate-resolution-RT effect for some title worth $250 (or $320 with a drive) to you, where do you start...

You can add a Disk Drive with the Pro but it's pretty expensive.
