I have a friend that is using an Asus P5KPL-CM motherboard, but has two different CPUs. He has a Pentium 4 640 and a Pentium Dual-Core E2200. Which would be a better CPU to use until he upgrades to a Q6600? My guess is the E2200, but I wanted to consult the experts to be sure. Minor Gaming using a 7800GT until the Q6600 and a 4850 Upgrade later on down the road.

the E2200 is the way to go. Its been known to overclock really well, plus it is a full generation of technology newer than the P4.

A 2.2GHz dualcore vs a 3.2GHz single core...Easy choice, E2200 all the way.

Forgot to say, the other poster is right, stick it in and OC it to 3GHz pretty easy.
