Which image do you prefer?

Hi, I know this isn't directly video cards related, but since I'm taking kind of a general survey on people's thoughts regarding it, I felt that a forum full of graphics gurus would be applicable.

Basically, of these two images, which do you prefer?

Follow-up questions:

Did you mind the loss in lighting detail, e.g. on the dwarf's shoulders?
Did you notice the loss in detail before I pointed it out?

You can notice the difference a lot in the guy's legs and boots.

No and Yes.
 
Neither, but IF i didnt have a choice, #1 becuase the AA looks to be on. The 2nd its definitely off. The first has poor lighting of the dwarf, but the 2nd does and lacks AA. Id say 1st's AA with 2nd's lighting and quality.
 
I noticed the loss in lighting detail in #1.

The thing is that I woud like the lighting detail to be better while whatever optimization you did to #1 is still in place to maximize the appearance.

From my perspective in my chair on 16x12 screen, #2 looked better because with my screen being so big and the picture so small I couldn't see the different optimizations but zooming in I see that #1 has a better optimization and would look better with smaller resolutions.

#2 because I can see the red circle much clearer. You can also see the claws on the left hand better. But it has jaggier edges on things, especially the cones. So it's kinda six of one and half a dozen of the other.
