a64 amd 3000+ winchester/ venice + msi k8n mb for about 250 dollars

or

p4 3.0ghz E prescott/ ecs crappy m/b for about 200 dollars?

for the price/performance... and gaming..

:)

Why not spend an extra $50 on the Intel setup for a better mobo as you're willing to go $250 on an AMD setup? ECS = teh crap ;)

that is the thing though... intel is cheaper.. might wanting to get that...

the p4/ecs one is a bundled deal..

if I go with the pci-e aka amd a64 with 939 pin cpu/ m/b.. it will be more future proof.. however.. it will be more expensive... in cpu/ mb/ video card...

look down on my other post.. I got 700-800 dollars to spend on comp..

You've got that right about ECS. Those boards are junk.

heh, i have a 3.6ghz p4, id let go decently cheap if you wanted to top those by a nice amount. pm me if interested

goog, i am interested.. but I can't pm you.. cuz forum is acting weird the last day or so.. pm later.. on too.. you got m/b also??

the amd setup...imo...much better perfomance and an awesome board....mainly cuz you said gaming
and im an amd guy :D

The processor doesn't matter much with a POS mobo. Go for #1. It's better for gaming anyway.

Yeah, if #2 is a combo deal, go with #1 (which I would probably do anyway...AMD rules).
