Ok fellas, been in afganistan for a few years now, and am on my way home next month, building my ultimate pc rig.

What I am looking for in a video card is simple. I GAME HARD, and I STREAM MY GAMING. So the the card/cards must be capable of the following.

1. Play the most demandable graphics intense games.
2. Have a 3 monitor setup.
3. Must be elite :)

Problem is I have been out of the game for so long I dont knwo where to start. I was looking at the 7970's and even the ROG Ares II but I didnt get it ordered in time and now everything is sold out everywhere. Please let me know what you guys think.

Money is not an issue, so even if its a dual card setup i want the best, looking at around 2k for gpu's alone. Thanks in advanced for the ideas.

Keep in mind this is for a three 27 in monitor setup, even though I will not be gaming with all three but mor elike a 1 monitor for gaming, another for medea stream content, and a third for skype. I am just wanting a setup that will be able to complete this with flying colors. I may eventually use all three monitors for one game, or even introduce a 4th HDTV to the setup for streaming VODS or what not.

well just wait a few days for review. if that is just for gaming then you are doing it wrong unless you just like spending money.
 
wait for titan reviews. then mostly you could pick 2 of these. but you might need to be sitting with F5 key ready when the card launches at online shops like newegg / amazon. its going to be in short supply initially. good luck.
 
Definetly planning on overclocking, hence the big money. Top end overclocking equipment is what I was after, and the things listed I have read were the best of the best. Pretty sure all of the items I listed were [H]Gold.

I think I will get the Titans, but like you all have stated there going to be hard to get right away. In the meantime whats another good card to sli/crossfire for what I need, that way I can wait on the titans. I have other systems to put in the cards that I replace with the titans.
 
Two Titans to game on a single 27" is like driving a Veyron to the grocery store in a 25. Get a 690 and be done with it.

You won't be able to get maximum overclock with 64 gigs of RAM. There's little point in buying over 1600MHz with that amount. Even If you get 2133 to work it'll get your fps from 176.3 to 178.5. Before you buy anything digest this entire thread.

I think two Titans at 2560 sounds like a killer setup for those few demanding games but yes for most games it is crazy overkill. people that buy cards like this do so to have fun and max EVERY game though and will take more than one Titan to run every game fully maxed at 2560 and stay above 60 fps.
 
If your going the titan route you miht as well just snag 2 gtx 690's instead-.
 
Wait until Titan hits, get two 690s for quad SLI when everyone with 690s dumps them for the Titan.

For streaming, you'll want a LGA2011 setup. The more threads, the better. You could probably get by with two 670 4GBs or two 7970s for the moment, and I actually would consider that for now. SLI is a better implementation than crossfire, but the 7970 CF should net you a bigger boost and you can framerate cap it to avoid microstutter.

BTW, Titan isn't new technology, it's Kepler... it came out with the 600 series, and should've been the actual 680. But Nvidia figured the GK104 (the current 680) was good enough, and gave that to us instead.
 
I recommend two Titans versus two 690s. SLI scales much better than quad-SLI.
 
You don't need 64GB of RAM to play games. I can have two or more games plus a bunch of other shit open with 8GB. If you HAVE to have a lot of ram, just get 32GB. It'll cut your cost for RAM in half and you can still brag about your e-penis.

That Corsair 100i is child's play. If you want the best setup you need to build yourself a custom watercooling loop. Even in the demo Geekbox Nvidia sent out to reviewers for the Titans, they included a custom CPU loop. I'm sure Titan will have a waterblock coming out for it.

Everything else you chose looks fine besides the case could be a bit more WC friendly, but that's a matter of opinion.

If I had the kind of money to drop on a system like that, I wouldn't fault you for having it pre-built. Extreme Overkill, it would get the [H] sticker of approval.

My only qualm is with the Gigaworks T3s. If you are going to get powered speakers go with high quality powered bookshelves like Audioengine A5+ with an A8 sub, or an Edifier S730. That is, unless you are too broke for good sound after the purchase of such a beastly computer. :D
 
At first I thought you were certainly spending too much on stuff you don't need for gaming. Then I saw they are including a t-shirt and Microsoft Internet Explorer. Awesome deal. Go for it.

In all seriousness, though, unless you have more money than you know what to do with (and maybe you do), follow some of the advice above and save a couple grand towards upgrading sooner in the future. You'll be better off doing that, than trying to sit on this build for 6 years because you blew too much cash on it at the start.
 
Forget the speakers completely! Get a schiit lyr amp paired with a pair of Sennheiser HD800's, forget speakers, go quality headphones! :p
 
HD800s with a budget like that? Hell, why not go electrostats? Of course, that might mean a slightly beefier amp, too.
 
You are right, screw any budget, Sennheiser Orpheus it is! :D $16,000 well spent on audio.

But now we just need to push him into the audiophile direction, WHO'S WITH ME!?

Or speakers could work, too. I've often dreamed of a pair of Nautilus cabs gracing my machine. I suppose I could hook those up to the PC, and a better pair of speakers on my stereo. ;)

Look fellas, I have no budget cap, so all the joking aside, if you dont have anything to say that isnt sarcastic, you can just read the thread and move on.

I am not just a gamer, I am looking at using the system to live stream brodcast for a multimedia company that I am starting.

I also do 3d modeling.

Tons of web design,

Video editing, and compression.

And gaming.

I am looking for something that will not need to be upgraded for a descent amount of time.

I am looking for something that is appealing to the eye, and has the top of the line performance that I am looking for.

As for the prebuilt, Like I said, I would order everything myself off of newegg if it was all available. Besides my alienware laptop, I have never purchased anything prebuilt since I was old enough to build a pc.

Show me where I can buy 2 x Titans, and Ill build the entire system myself. :)
 
Another thing, just because some of you dont need a pc like this to do what you do, doesnt mean that I dont need it to do what I want to do.

Think of it this way, people dont need a 300000 dollar car, but they buy them all the time. Its what they want. Same thing with me and my build. I want the best. Maybe I wont use it all, but I will have it if I need it.

This is all new information. If you have needs other than some gaming, that changes matters. Don't blame us if we get a little punchy about your question, when you're not exactly forthcoming with your needs.

That said, your needs and uses are quite different from my own, so I'm going to keep quiet other than to say nothing strikes me as particularly wrong with the setup you posted above. I'm just not fit to comment on how you could improve it. If you have good headphones already, consider adding an external DAC and amp so you can get good use of them while on this beast. That's an area, at least, where I can offer a bit of advice if desired.
 
Spending all that money and going with 1080p monitors for modeling/web design/video editing is silly. Go with three Titans and triple 2560x1600 monitors. I'm not joking. You will be immensely more productive.
 
I switched from a 690 to SLI Titans, and couldn't be happier. Beastly cards. As for finding them in stock:

Apparently newegg is in stock. Also don't bother with the superclocked or signature evga ones, those overclocks are stupid easy to do yourself and not worth the premium for the extras given imho. As for the monitor, I'll definitely put a good note in for the korean monitors (Have a Catleap 2B). I'd probably suggest the Overlord tempest OC edition to get yourself a 120hz 1440p ips screen.

i upgraded from two 4gb 680s to three because two wasn't cutting it on my three 27" monitors
 
I have been reading a bit on the ips monitors, and was considering it. I guess it wont effect games like SCII or LOL and it will give me a lot more resolution. I was looking at the hitting a 6 monitor setup for the office, and then just having 1 monitor on the side for gaming.

That way I can get a lot more done with the setup and have one good gaming monitor. I really dont feel like gaming over the 6 display setup.

I am open for all suggestions on monitor setups and high quality sound from inputs to outputs to speakers, keep in mind I am planning on running a new broadcast as well as streaming video and audio live.

I have decided on the TITANS for sure, and am trying to get my hands on two of them.

So are you definitely looking for speakers, rather than primarily using the headphones you already have? Or would you want both?
