These cards are in the price range I can spend atm to upgrade my gtx 260 oc, which should I get? Will be playing BF3 @ 1680x1050 for now and will be upgrading to 1920x 1080 monitor after first of the year. Will be making the purchase tomorrow. Current rig is Phenom2 x4 920, 4 gig ram, and corsair hx620 power supply(these will be replaced after tax time).

Between the two 6950 cards, check the warranties, but I think XFX offers limited lifetime. The MSI card, on the other hand is one of the best out there, as far as build quality and cooling capacity goes, but with only 3 year warranty. However, between 6950 and 560, its too close for me to call a clear winner. They seem to trade a lot of blows.

With the 560 you do get physx for those games that support it, which is a plus... Personally, I think I would go with he 6950 at the end of the day.

EDIT: Changed my analysis...Looking at more reviews, the 6950 seems to pull ahead more often than not :)

I have the XFX one and it overclocks really well, its running at 880/1375(lol) stock voltage and max temp it's been so far was 79ºc. The rebate is taking its sweet time getting to me, though. I also noticed that when I wasn't calling about the rebate it had been weeks without been data entered, I'm thinking if you don't call they'll "forget" about your rebate.

I should mention that the 79ºc was with fans at 100% in MSI afterburner.

the 6950 is better than the 560ti for 1080p. plus there's a chance you can unlock it to a 6970.

i got my msi twin frozr III 6950 a month ago, unlocked to 6970 shaders easily and overclocked to 6970 specs. so basically a 6970 for $275 with excellent cooling, full load doesn't peak 65% with fan at auto
 
The GTX 560 Ti and the Radeon HD 6950 1GB trade blows, with one of them being either as fast, a tad slower or a tad faster than the other depending on the game. Overall, the Radeon HD 6950 1GB has a very slight advantage performance wise, only “a couple of frames per second here and there
Simply put, the Geforce GTX 560 Ti performs almost on par with the Radeon HD 6950 1GB and costs $20 less.

This is a good one as well especially if your looking to OC

2Gb is a waste as the cards dont have the power to compute anything that will be able to fill that. Gflps per bit outweighs Vram amount.
