Hi all! Long time lurker, first time poster. I finally built my first PC (E8400, 4850 in a P182) and I would like to hook up a Scythe Kaze fan controller to, well, control the fans. It comes with 4 thermal probes.
My question is: How do I hook these up to the cpu/gpu to get accurate temperature readings?
I tried googling it, but everything I found was from the days before Integrated Heat Spreaders. I would really like to have the temperatures monitored from hardware, because I dual-boot and work mostly in linux, and don't want to have to deal with linux monitoring software. Plus, Hardware is visible while gaming or working without having to load up an app, and doesn't cause a crash if the driver doesn't behave.
