Where only cheap TN panels

Is it me or does the USA seem to only get cheap TN panels while the rest of the world gets nice IPS or PVA panels? I mean I know we get some but if you look everywhere else they have like say 20 different types of IPS and PVA panels while in the USA we have like 2.

*VA and IPS monitors are rare and expensive here, in Europe.

From my experience, in France most shops only have TN monitors in stock. If you want a *VA or an IPS, you have to order it. And most of them are much more expensive here than in the US.

You have to come to the conclusion that a majority of the monitors that are purchased are for office work and or mom and pops that want a cheap screen for reading their emails, the demographic is just too small for manufacturers to push out expensive panels when they know only a small majority will purchase them.
