Where does the thermal probe go?

Title says it all, the probe for the lcd that came with my case. And in general, how acurate are they?
 
i don't know. :(
Are there any programs that would provide a better analysis of case temps, cpu temp, any others?
 
well, if you want the monitor to measure the cpu temp, you could put it right next to the ihs on the side of the heatsink. like not sandwiched between, but just placed on the side of it like this:

and itll tell you the cpu temp more accurately then most windows based monitors
