I'm waiting for the price of the 3.2EE to drop so I can build a dedicated gaming rig.

Isn't the price supposed to drop to about $400?

Either that or wait till the AMD 3700 comes out..........

EE for $400? Are you kidding me? The 3.4EE was released earlier this month, it retails for over $1100. Maybe you meant 3.4E?

No I meant 3.2EE. Isn't the price supposed to drop?

Especially since the A64 3400 basically kicks it's ass and is ~$400.

BTW, who is selling the 3.4EE? I havent seen it listed anywhere.

It's not out anywhere. I think Intel stated "March" or something. And no, I didn't hear of an appreciable price drop of the 3.2 EE, strangely enough.

the 3.2EE did have a price drop, from $999 to $925, not really much of one though

The EE chip won't drop much due to the Xeon core connection.

hmm, I haven't seen the 3.4EE in mass retail yet. Maybe small quantities in some shady websites, but the major retailer don't have it, or at least I don't see it. Once it in stock and on shelves, it should replace the 950 dollar price tag and the 3.2EE I would think would go down to 850 or so.

But still not within any rational man's reach.

as far as I'm concerned, there is nothing to say about the Extremely Expensive P4, it's the dumbest thing ever. who the hell would pay that? if you need a grand of computing power then get a dual opteron setup, dumbass (i'm talking to those whole consider buying one).

whatever, sorry to rant

the EE P4 won't ever drop much as it has to price match the xeon chips, if it didn't Intel would be undercutting themselves= not a smart buisiness move
