Approximately when does the next release of videocards happen?

I have an R290, it's showing its age but the 980ti doesn't seem like enough of a jump for the price tag. When does the next wave hit approximately?
 
Not enough of a jump? A 980 Ti is around 50% faster than a R9 290...

Anyway... There is no refresh coming, as far as I'm aware. The next cycle of hardware to hit from both AMD and NVIDIA are going to be a completely new generation of hardware. Current rumor for NVIDIA's new hardware points to a Q2'16 release, with AMD looking at a Q4'16 release.
 
I thought AMD was pushing to release closer to NVIDIA's Q2.

I'm also with an R9 290 and there really isn't any reason to upgrade beforehand. Especially if you are going to upgrade to Win 10 and take advantage of the big jump in performance with DirectX 12, once it catches on with developers.
