Ok, so I built my PC a little over 2 years ago, and still currently using a GF3 Ti 500. I've been holding out on building a new PC till games like D3 and HL2 came out... well D3 is about to be released, and HL2 is "hopefully" soon after. Well I don't have the amount of money I was hopping by this time, and have decided to wait longer before building a new PC.

Now my new goal (before was waiting on D3 and HL2 before considering getting a new PC) is to wait for all the 64 bit technology to take off and working well. How long do you suppose that this is prolly gonna take? Are there cards out now that can handle 64 bit technology, or are we planning on seeing them in the next year or 2? :)

You don't need to worry about 64-bit, it isn't going to make games that much better I don't think.

You want to be able to run doom3 and half life 2 at as full detail as possible, meaning you want as fast a computer as possible. That's a gamer's goal - a fast computer.

What's your price range?

64 bit windows should be out later this year (maybe it already is?) but I don't know when they are going to start to make games that take advantage of it. I don't think HL2 or Doom3 will have a 64-bit versions out right away (though I heard something from valve about a 64bit hl2 comming out sooner or later...)
