Something is really wrong with this card....First off, I have a Sapphire 9800 n-p 128mb flashed to a 9800p using the gigacube bios ( 8/29/03 )clocked at 460/760 currently and everything has been fine since i did it ( around january 04 ) Anyways, recently, games have been getting HUGE fps hits, like UT2k4, BF1942, Juiced demo ( runs smooth until smoke or another car(s) come on screen ), Joint ops demo runs terrible, and just about all games :( Whats going on?! I ran 3dmark03 and scored 7,300....so is there anything wrong with my card? I dont get artifacts or anything in games, but these games used to run great, like UT2k4. It usually runs very smooth, but when another character comes on, my FPS dips to 30!~And thats on a DM map!! Thats not horribly bad, but when your getting 60+ and it just drops, that gets very anoying. Makes me wonder how HL2 and Doom3 are gonna run. BF1942 runs smooth for the most part, but i do experience some slow down with a lot of players, not as bad as UT2k4 though.
 
Its probably something you installed or did not know you installed (like self-installing trojans in pop-under windows)

If you've got WinXP try a system restore to two weeks before you know you started having problems.
 
I just reformated :( btw i run 4xAA 8xAF most of the time, but i dont think UT2k4 is that demanding of a game...is it?
 
Really? I remember UT2k3 being much easier to run, i guess they updated it a lot, still looks the same though...
 
Go back to the old Catalyst drivers or use Omega drivers. I got a huge hit (like 30%) on my non-pro flashed to pro when I upgraded to 4.7.

I went back immediately and saw my performace go back up to normal levels.
 
OMG! THANK YOU!!! I downloaded the 4.2's and now UT2k4's avg fps is staying at 90!! I LOVE YOU!!! :eek: :D :p ;)
