At the store, the first product was in the router section. I am looking for a router and if the first one will get this job done then its a pretty good price.

The first one is a switch. You need the 2nd one, a router.

Nope, the switch can only handle communication over your LAN. Also, it doesn't do NAT, which is important for SOHO connections.
