What's faster.. a 2500+ or a Pentium 2.4b? Also, is a downgrade from 8x to 4x AGP noticeable in say HL2 using a 9700 pro?
 
at stock speeds, they are probably even (since its the B with 533 bus)

and, i wouldnt think 4x AGP would physically cripple the performance but you will take some FPS hits
 
ummm why would u downgrade? forget the 2.4b... its only wut 533fsb? get the 2.4c if ya want instead but the 2.4B vs the 2500+.. the 2500+ would beat the 2.4b but if you put in a 2.4c then the 2500+ is comparable to the 2.4c but i think the 2.4c would win... also if ya get a 2500+ u can easily get it to 3200+ speeds but the 2.4c can overclock pretty well too.. u just got the have the right equipment that's all.. IMO dont bother witht eh 2.4b at all... its either 2.4c or 2500+ barton...
