Hello guys i wasn't following any new comp updates latly but it's time to buy a new computer. What is a good setup for the money this days motherboard, CPU, video card and ram. I see a lot of people choose AMD this days never had AMD system but as i see every one wants those 64bit comps
Thx alot :)

well a few basic questions first. what are you going to do with it? and how much you got to spend? i see your interested in amd ok to do what?

well i got no interest in AMD actually i see alot of people choose it I need a system to play games i'm willing to spend on it from $1000 to $2000

people choose amd because it plays games better. <not starting a flame war> according to benchmarks ive seen both real games and synthetic. so im confused now are you interested in amd or not? if playing game like you mentioned then amd is the best choice. however intel can play games also it just seems amd does it better at the moment. thats a nice budget by the way for a system.

see the reason i'm looking into AMD is because it's got this 64bit i don't see this in intel yet

intel is gonna be the first to come out with dual core and it will be cheaper then amds offerings. however im thinking the amds will perform a bit better. intel may not have 64 bit but they do run good if you multi task alot thats where the intels shine. im using an older intel now and i love it. im just wanting to try amd this time around and all i do is play games so amd 64 /dual core is right down my ally.

if your not in a hurry i would wait for the dual core amd's. they are going to retailers in june i believe. retail i think in quarter 3. if your going dual core amd. socket 939 motherboard is recommended and i think have to have windows pro also which i didnt know before

so right now i'm thinking of
CPU intel 3.2 : 1mb cach
video card x800xt : is CONNECT3D x800 any good ?
dunno about mother board and ram any suggestions

i like this one the 925xe. the asus p5ad2-e premium. for dual core intel they make the 955x asus premium. ram corsair ddr2 533. 2 512s. :D

check newegg can see prices and what it looks like and detailed specs. yes i like the video card choices. ive had two ati cards and have been pleased with both of them.

cpu is the wrong socket for that board you need socket 775. and no im not a big fan of value select memory. i would go with corsair xms series ram. which is what i have in my intel pc now. yes that video card looks fine.

it will say which socket it fits. same when looking at cpu. you should get a good power supply to.

Ram looks pretty good, all the other stuff on that site costs alot more.

shell i get 2mb of cach or 1mb i mean is there a big difference in performance
