What to upgrade

I just got the following from my dad who "upgraded" his sound system.

Tell me what you think of this stuff, what I should upgrade and so on.

1x NHT VT-1C Center Channel Speaker (120w. max)
2x Canton GL 260 Bookshelf Speakers (70w. max)
1x NHT SW2P Subwoffer
1x NHT MA-1A Sub Amplifier
1x Denon AVR-2500 5.1 Reciever

I still want to plug my Audigy 2 into a reciever, so that has to go. I am currently using Klipsch 5.1 Computer speakers. Do any of you think these speakers with a new reciever will be better than my Klipsch??

Keep the NHT sub and amp together...those sell as sets usually...plus NHT subs are very nice.

Your audigy2 will work with that receiver if it has discrete inputs. Just go to ratshack and buy some gold plated 1/8" to RCA stereo adaptors for $7/ea. You will need three of them do do 5.1...so $21 plus tax...

And that receiver should have discrete....if yamaha's cheapest has discrete inputs, that Denon should as well, since Denon is a higher end brand for the most part.

Actually that entire setup will pretty much own compared to your ProMedias. PC speakers and audio speakers are two totally different classes of sound...Enjoy!

Thanks for the reassurance they are nice.... even though that I can even hear that they are nice...

The reciever is kind of old and doesn't have the whole descret input. I am just going to have to go buy one. I am looking at this (budget is no more than 350 bucks)
