I have $100, what should I spend it on?

Here is my current system:
AMD 1800+
Asus A7N8X-Dlx
ATI 9500 Pro
1Gig Corsair PC3200 XMS
80GB Maxtor <--full of pr0n & downloads
200GB Maxtor <--full of pr0n :(
17" & 19" monitors
Benwin 2.1 Flat Panel Speakers
Cheiftec Full 6 bay tower
Logitech MX700 mouse
Logitech Cordless Freedom Pro (Natural Keyboard)

I have busted my ass for a month now working lots of OT, no it didn't just get me $100, but it got me up on my bills and what not, and I have $100 extra to spend on me, shh I haven't told my wife

My thoughts on new stuff:
More storage :D
Belkin N52 thingy
Speakers
Games (As I only have like BF1942/RTR and AA)
New Keyboard (Logitech Elite Cordless Duo MX?)
New Proc (AMD 2500+ Mobile) [but is it worth it on this motherboard? V1.4]
More fans? I have like 5 80MM in there and a Vantec AeroFlow

So what are your thoughts? No I am not sending the money to you. :p

So the opinion is I get a Mobile 2500+ Barton correct? And OC is I assume, as it is only 300 MHz faster than my current one.

It also has a faster FSB outta the box. I upgraded from a 1800 to the 2500 and noticed a favorable difference. Then overclock that best and your system is good for a year yet all for $100. That is if you don't need the latest and greatest, but a rig that is pretty fast, and can handle just about anything you throw at it.

the 2500+ mobile only has 266 FSB, the non mobile (which is what I have) has 333 FSB and 512KB cache. the cashe and FSB make a TON of difference. I know, personally, because I also have an 1800+ in my other computer here.

This is also how I can say, knowingly, that the 2500+ is way faster then the 1800+

If you decide to get the moble, OC the FSB to 333. the non mobile on the other hand is quite fast even non OCed.

We all know that, no one buys a mobile not to OC. mobiles would be 3200+'s if there was no demand for mbiles.

I've got $250 right now and wanna buy some goodies for the computer...what would be the best upgrade for me ?

i was thinking a new mobo/proc (keeping it AMD of course :) )

and i don't wanna buy new memory so uhh, something compatible w/pc2700

dont hijack threads. make your own.

get the 35 watt mobile 2400+ the fsb is 266, but you raise it to 400 anyways.... and it is multiplier unlocked unlike the non mobiles... there is no reason to not get a mobile, unless you are absolutely not going to overclock..

-send it to me :D

or

-barton 2500+.....u'll notice a difference with the extra cache

or

-watercooling for a quiter system?

or

-get your wife something nice

Rig is already pretty quiet, and my wife gets crap all the time, anyone have a closet she can borrow?

Ok I am a bit confused, I thought the Mobile Barton was a 2500+, but I am seeing a bunch of y'all saying 2400+?

So which is right a Mobile 2400, a Mobile 2500, or a regular 2500? And aren't the regular 2500+s locked, thats why everyone was going for the mobiles?

Thanks for helping guys, really appreciate it :)

there are 2 kinds of mobiles now...

the first ones were 1.45v they are 2400, 2500, and 2600.... but then they came out with a 1.35v mobile.. they are they "35 watt" mobiles... and come in 2200 and 2400...

get a 1.35v or 35 watt mobile.... all of the mobiles are multi unlocked... and run on much less voltage, which means they have much more headroom to be overclocked due to the ability to crank the voltage up more... and they can run as fast as a non mobile and much lower voltages and therefore run cooler...

How about a DVD burner and some blank media :p

Hey, I like this idea! :D

That way you can back up all your porn and have more space! ;)

Ok I searched NewEgg, but all they have is the 45W mobiles, unless I want to go down to like a 2000 or something like that. So I guess I will have to wait and see if they get anymore instock.

DVDBurner would be nice, but the media is so expensive. I can buy 100 CDRs for <$20

100CDRs@$20
100x750MB=75,000MB/1000=75GB

10DVD-RWs@$20 + ~$80 for the DVD Burner
10x4700=47,000MB/1000=47GB

So I think I will stick with the CDRs for now, or just purchase a new HDD in the future when those come down.

If anyone knows where to find a Mobile 35W please let me know.

go check ebay or the for/sale forum... Pretty good deals there once in a while
