My friend has all the college football games his son has been in on his att dvr. The dvr is starting to get full and he would like to edit the files commercials and burn the games on a dvd. I was hoping some of you guys had some suggestions.

his computer runs xp pro btw.

thanks guys

do some searching on the model of the DVR.

The Motorola I have, has a firewire port.
There are drivers floating around out there to hook it up to a PC, and "stream" the recorded content off.
The issue is, you can't just copy off the file... kinda like some digital camcorders, where the computer is essentially recording the video stream off the DVR.

if any of that makes sense.

I have the typical 6412, I think, and the only way to pull files off of it, is exactly how j-sta described. It works, but it is only in real-time.

that's just a PVR box, which does essentially the same thing as a DVR. It will record the video stream it receives. It will still only do real-time recording.

it would be cheaper to find the software needed and appropriate drivers for your DVR (if they are available).

you could certainly find software for cheaper than the $249 that thing costs!
