What should I purchase....

I have about $300 dollars to spend on my 2nd LCD monitor. I currently have a Dell 20" widescreen with all the bells and whistles. I would prefer to get another Dell 20", probably the same monitor but the one without all the bells and whistles as it is only 280 instead of 300+ because I am anal that way and would prefer to have the same monitors staring back at me.

But, currently I can not find any coupons or sales for the 20" monitor and I keep hearing that Samsung, BenQ and Sceptre ar also great monitors. I have been looking at this one in particular and with it being $100 dollars less (and buying from costco) it appeals to me. And since I already have a 20" I don’t particularly want to grab a larger one (but I could be talked into one). I also plan on picking up another hard drive, quieter CPU fan and possibly the new Ipod Nano. So needless to say the less money I spend on the monitor the more I have to spend elsewhere.

Can anyone out there help me make up my mind?

I assume you have the Dell 2007WFP and that by Dell 20" without all the bells and whistles, you're referring to the E207WFP? There's more differences between them that just bells and whistles, the 2007WFP has an S-IPS panel (or S-PVA) and the E207WFP has an inferior TN panel, so you won't exactly have the same monitors staring back at you.
 
You are correct sir and crap.

I assumed that I might not have quite the same/exact picture staring back at me as they are all slightly different (my opinions from reading this forum) but I am somewhat ok with that as long as they are not drastically different. I was mainly referring to the housing as Dell has minimal extra crap surrounding their screens and some LCD's out there have a bunch of plastic crap housing their screens.

Then again the housing really should not matter that much to me.

The differences you will notice bewtween the two is that the 2007WFP has better viewing angles than the E207WFP. This is particularly noticeable in a 2-monitor setup where most of the time you never look at the monitors straight on.
 
Ahhh, that I did not take into consideration. Is there that big of a difference using the E207WFP or shoudl I just go with the Sceptre?

I could just wait till the monitors go on sale again, but I got my 2007WFP for $339 and I doubt I will see that sale price anytime soon.

Does anyone know when Dell will be putting things up for sale again?
 
The 2007WFP is on sale right now for onlyt $359, so it is only $20 more than what you spent before.

I agree, since you already have one, it really would be best to have two of the same panels. If you get the E207, you will not like the viewing angle at all in comparison.
 
Yea I might just have to bite the bullet on this one...I fonly I could find the coupon I got when I got the last one around Sept 24th or so...damn cluttered desk....
