What should I do?

Now that the GTX 6XX and Radeon 7XXX are both out I am ready to buy a new video card. I'm looking to future proof for the next 3 ish years. I bought my 4870x2 and it lasted this long but it seems like its starting to die on me slowly. I was thinking if I should buy a GTX 690. As far as resolution I will be playing on... I have 2x view sonic 2235wm that I using as a dual monitor setup I play my games on 1 screen though. So that's 1680x1050. But I will be upgrading to 2x dell2412s or get one of the Korean IPS catleaps. I am not are what to do as far as what video card to get. Obviously you all are going to say that the GTX690 is overkill.

Suggestions please!!

For single screen gaming look to get a HD 7970 OC card like the one below. The 3GB framebuffer and 384 bit memory system make it quite future proof.

If u prefer Nvidia just get the GTX 680.

Buy what you can afford. If you want a GTX 690, get it. It may be overkill, but its nice. Most people in these forums cant critize anyone about overkill, or excess spending.
