What is this?

That is a very blurry DVI port. Its for hooking up digital displays like LCDs or plasma screens.
 
You can also use that for connecting your box to an HDTV for some big screen gaming goodness.
 
As said before, they are used for hooking up LCD screens and HDTV's and other things.

A lot of video cards some times include a converter that turns that DVI output into another VGA for dual monitor support.
