I have been wondering, what is the best way to have a NIC configured?

Auto-sense
10 baseT Full_Duplex
10 BaseT
100 baseTX Full_Duplex
100 BaseTX

The card is a Linksys 10/100 NIC.

Auto-sense, unless it doesn't seem to work properly. In which case, you should configure it manually to whatever the other end's set to.
