Hi to all....I have heard this kind of cooling for a very long time, but I have never seen one or know exactly it is....
So can somebody help me with this one!

What is Phase Changing Cooling???

Thanks:cool:

In a nutshell, phase changing cooling is cooling by changing phases. A type of liquid, possibly freon is sent to the cpu. The heat from the cpu evaporates the liquid to gas. The gas is sent to a compressor where it condenses the gas back to liquid form and it will be resent back to cpu.

Phase-change cooling

A more extreme way to cool the processor. A vapor compression phase-change cooler is a unit which usually sits underneath the PC, with a tube leading to the processor. Inside the unit is a compressor, the same type that cools a freezer. The compressor compresses a gas which is cooled (usually with fans and air) condensing it to a liquid. Then, the liquid is pumped up to the processor, where it passes through an expansion device, this can be from a simple capillary tube to a more elaborate thermal expansion valve. The liquid evaporates changing phase, thereby absorbing the heat from the processor. This evaporation can produce temperatures reaching around −30 degrees Celsius. The gas flows down to the compressor and the cycle begins over again. This way, the processor can be cooled to temperatures ranging from −15 to −150 degrees Celsius, depending on the load, type and speed of the processor and the refrigeration system (see refrigeration). This type of system suffers from a number of issues but mainly one must be concerned with dewpoint and proper insulation of all sub-ambient surfaces must be done otherwise the pipes will sweat dripping water on sensitive electronics.

One of the shortest and best definitions of phase change (with the computer in mind)

So...you saying that the fridge is based on a Phase Changing cooling??? If so.....I might rip one outta of a old fridge and mod it and turn it into a phase changing system for next overclocks!!:p

Rather then using Liquid Nitrogen is uses up easy and expensive here!!!
