Hello,

Can someone tell me what "Folding" is.... I guess I missed this new craze somewhere, and I see everyone talking about it, but basically..... what is it?

It's how we fight cancer and other disease's with our computers,

and it's not addictive,

really.

Folding is basically devoting spare CPU cycles to better mankind.
Unless you are running your CPU at max you are wasting cycles.
Join the team and try us out.

my ass it's not addictive:D you start out with one computer your personal one get it folding then you look at some one fly past you and go oh hell no! then you add the rest of your computers in your house ya know take it up to 3 or so. then you realize that you could be doing more so you go build 3-4 computers to add to your collection you start heating your house with your computers. then you start preying on friends and talking them ie... beating them to get their permission to install Folding on their machines. that gets ya up to like 14-16 computers. then you start looking for a small business or 2 to borg then your up to like 40 computers. now i am looking for a small corporation so i can kick U_M butt ;) in ppd all i am asking for is 2-300 computers :p

so like i said my ass it's not addictive

I sit here at work looking at all these boxes that are sitting on and running all day, thinking "I'm a Domain Admin, I can install F@H if I want, MOAR PPD 4 ME! MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!" And then I come back to reality cos I can't install F@H on mission critical systems, but I coerce co-workers into running it for me saying it's for cancer research. Yeah, social engineering is where it's at. :D

Definitely habit forming, but I don't think anyone has OD'ed or started a 12-step program because of too much F@H.
